There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.

Mask Makers web into meditation
Hello dear visitors - we are sorry that we haven't had the time to maintain this wonderful site as much as we wanted for a long time.
We have been very busy and will be for yet another long time - so the site will enter into a meditation until further notice.
We will only deal with issues when we have the time.
But don't worry - the site will stay online.

MASK MAKING - Monday 20th to Thursday 23rd July 2009
MASK USING - Friday 24th to Monday 27th July 2009
Creating and using masks is rich process of entering into a dialogue with the theatre of life. On Bali dancers carve, carves dance, the art forms flow into each other. We create the outside of the masks in a studio, and having finished that process we cross the doorway into the theatre and begin to explore the inside of the mask, the question is which side of the masks are you looking at?
These workshops can be attended together, or individually.
MASK MAKING
The process of creating a mask brings us to the question of identity. Given the opportunity to live with images of who we were, who we are and who we want to be, allows a sense of self to emerge out of the roles we play in our lives. In this course we will make models in clay, draw, face cast each other and create a mask out of paper and cloth.
This workshop is for artists, designers and anyone who has a keen interest in what lies behind the masks we wear.
Times: 6:30pm start on Monday. 9:30am to 5:30pm daily and finish at 1pm Thursday.
Price for both making and using together: £240/conc £210
MASK USING
We meet ourselves in the mirrors of self observation, significant others and humanity. For some of us this sense of self is a vague notion, for others a brazen shield with which to face the world, yet the Self lives in a dance between the two. The mask is an ideal tool to explore the relationship between the self the other and the world, as the mask only remains alive for the audience if all of these relationships are nurtured. This workshop seeks to focus on this question in relationship to art, drama and stories of the self.
This workshop is for: actors, therapists and anyone interested in self development.
Times: 6:30pm start on Friday. 9:30am to 5:30pm daily
and finish at 1pm Monday.
