Masks were common throughout pre-Hispanic cultures but of particular importance to the Mexican and Aztec civilizations. They were used during religious ceremonies and today continue to be used during festivals. With a mask over their face the wearer could become someone or something else. The selection of masks Tumi has are made from clay in workshops in Mexico, following traditional pre-Hispanic techniques. They are predominantly replicas of Aztec pieces.

Our headquarters are on Bainbridge Island, the onetime home of legendary Suquamish leader Chief Seattle. He is buried one mile north of Bainbridge Island in the town of Suquamish on the Port Madison Reservation, the home of his people, the Suquamish Indian Nation.
