Each character has a mask, or persona, whether they have a physical constructed mask on their face or not. For example, the lovers' masks are the painted faces of the actors. A mask has no past, it lives in the present. They are not effected by the events on stage. In other words, they never change. An actor's hands never touch the mask. Nothing can interfere with the gaze, the facial expression, of the mask. The mask is the center of the character. It drives the character and leads all action.

The masks are made using the traditional Venetian method; that is, the design is sculpted in clay, then the model is cast in plaster, and finally many layers of paper are pressed into the resulting negative. This technique for creating the positive is called "stuck paper," or carta incollata. After the mask has dried, it is removed from the mold and covered with a slip of plaster. The masks are decorated with paints, ink, and other materials. The masks are designed to be comfortably worn or to simply hang on a wall.

MaskaSoo was created to share with you the mystery of the masquerade. Its creator calls herself an artist rather than a mask-maker, as she creates her masks from imported plastic molds, which are sometimes either cut and/or reshaped to achieve the desirable shape. These molds, you could say, act as canvas for the artist to express her art. Each mask is hand-made, one-at-a-time, by only one artist and is the results of her passion and love for the art of creating magical power through fascinating designs. We can only wish that these masks evoke in you the same feeling as those described in reference to Swarovski's "Masquerade" trilogy crystal figurines: "They reach out and touch our souls, stir up our emotions, and kindle the desire in us all to join in the mystery of the masquerade". MaskaSoo is now making these masks available to anyone who is a mask lover or collector, or simply anyone who wishes to join in the "Masquerade".

This was a turning point in her career. Under Eric's patient guidance, she learned not only techniques of mask masking but also how to mold gestures and expressions into the masks. In the process of creating them, Lucrecia was forced to look at her self in the mirror constantly. What she found was the recollection of past anxieties, frustrations and anger.
