So stellt die Narrenzunft bereits seit vielen Jahren mehrere Mannschaften beim Jedermannschie?en der Sch?tzengilde. Auch beim Kegeln, Fu?ball- oder Volleyball spielen ist die Narrenzunft St. Georgen oft mit dabei. Auch beim Stadtfest liefert die Narrenzunft vor allem kulinarische Beitr?ge. Einer der Vereinsh?hepunkte au?erhalb der Fasnacht war sicherlich 1994 ein Auftritt in Bratislava/ Tschechei, wo eine kleine Gruppe H?str?ger im Auftrag der Tourist Information St. Georgen ?ber 1000 G?ste in Stimmung brachte und so den Namen der Narrenzunft weit ?ber die Region hinaus bekannt machte.

The Joshua Squad is a theatre mime, mask, commedia ministries group that focuses on missions work in the arts. The Joshua Squad, performing arts ministry team from Belhaven College, from its first year of inception has captured the imagination of audiences of all ages and from all walks of life. In an effort to raise funds to travel and go on missions trips, the Joshua Squad books appearances at churches, civic groups, business meetings, and other special events. Performing with the Mississippi Symphony, for birthday parties or in church functions, the Joshua Squad hopes to focus on the attributes that the Apostle Paul described in Philippians 4:8-9. Funds from appearances go directly to the missions fund for the Squad.

You know what clowns look like. Red noses, white masks and so on. But do you know what a Senegalese clown looks like? Well, the red nose is still there. But for the rest, Chikov (Mariem Faye), Pathou (Patricia Gomis), Dada 1st (Maktar Dada) and Kassoulet (Cheikh Tidiane Kass?) are inspired by the traditional masks of the Bororo Fulanis. A traditional Morris Dance team based in Maidenhead, Berkshire, UK - one of the few mixed Cotswold Morris teams in the area. We perform dances collected early this century from Cotswold villages such as Adderbury, Bledington and Bampton, and Lichfield in Staffordshire A Mummers' play is a traditional dramatic entertainment, still performed in villages of England and Northern Ireland, in which a champion is killed in a fight and is then brought to life by a doctor. It is thought by some that the play has links with primitive ceremonies held to mark important stages in the agricultural year. The name has been connected with words such as mumble and mute; with the German mumme ("mask," "masker"); and with the Greek mommo (denoting a child's bugbear, or a frightening mask). Mummers were originally bands of masked persons who during winter festivals in Europe paraded the streets and entered houses to dance or play dice in silence. "Momerie" was a popular amusement between the 13th and 16th century. In the 16th century it was absorbed by the Italian carnival masquerading (and hence was a forerunner of the courtly entertainment known as masque).
